I consulted on everything from how to cultivate genuine connection between consumer and brand to building a strong community. Strategically, I knew I wanted to steer clear of over-played gimmicks and lean into a refreshing no-strings attached mentality. Instead of preaching, we made the decision to pass the mic and give our consumer base the chance to do the talking. Active listening and genuine connection replaced a guru mentality and grounded us in collaboration. In order to accomplish all this, I created a place for consumers to provide direct feedback, and launched a brand newsletter.

building THE jab — Co-led the brand’s Junior Advisory Board (JAB). The board is composed of members of SELFMADE’s target audience. The intention was to create a reliable feedback mechanism and to ensure that the brand is not just for the consumer but built by the consumer. I focused on careful positioning of the JAB through high level strategy and copy execution, faciliating conversations, implementing feedback, and general recruitment efforts.
newsletter — Contributed to the SELFMADE monthly Newsletter as a writer-editor. Curated, authored, and edited article topics that were compelling to the consumer base and line with brand identity.
